Each Su mmer\, Collin College hosts the Texas All-Star Jazz Camp\, open to musician s of all levels (minimum age 13).

The curriculum includes jazz theory \, improvisation\, jazz history/listening\, instrumental masterclasses on s axophone\, trumpet\, trombone\, piano\, guitar\, bass\, and drums\, and ens embles (big bands and combos). Jazz camp faculty include members of the Col lin College Music Department as well as jazz performers and educators from across the country. Each year\, a special featured guest artist is invited to perform and teach at the camp.

Public concerts include the jazz ca mp faculty (Tuesday)\, featured guest artist (Thursday)\, and student ensem bles (Friday).

Fees (includes t-shirt)
Tuition: $425 ($375 "Early Bird" rate through April 30)
Meal plan: $50 (lunch daily)

Registration Policies
Full payment is due at the time of registration.
Full refu nds will be made up to May 1.
Between May 2 and June 1\, refunds will be made less a $200 processing fee.
After June 1\, no further registra tion refunds will be made.
If a student is dismissed from the camp for violating its policies or rules\, no refund will be made.

Ea ch Summer\, Collin College hosts the Texas All-Star Jazz Camp at the Spring Creek Campus in Plano\, TX. Our camp is open to musicians of all levels (m inimum age 13). The curriculum includes jazz theory\, improvisation\, jazz history/ listening\, instrumental masterclasses on saxophone\, trumpet\, tr ombone\, piano\, guitar\, bass\, and drums\, and ensembles (big bands and c ombos). Jazz camp faculty include members of the Collin College Music Depar tment as well as jazz performers and educators from across the country. Eac h year\, a special featured guest artist is invited to perform and teach at the camp. This year's guest is saxophonist Adam Larson.
Public concerts include the jazz camp faculty (Wednesday)\, featured g uest artist (Thursday)\, and student ensembles (Friday).

The way it works at the house is that you wait for the third roar of the MGM lion that precedes the opening of the 1939 Classic “The Wizard Of Oz”\, then drop the needle on F loyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon”\, burn one and then buckle up for safety. Th is is not cultural\, urban\, hippie\, stoner myth. What ensues is a most bi zarrely\, inexplicable phenomenon that I doubt even NASA can explain. At D an’s Silverleaf we take it a step further though. Local guitar luminary Pete Weise puts together a live rock chamber orchestra that takes the place of the Pink Floyd recording.
